Distillery Partners with Buffalo Field Campaign to Support Wild Bison Conservation.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is inviting bourbon lovers to slow down, disconnect, and reconnect with nature through a first-of-its-kind experience called Perfectly Untamed — a private bourbon tasting set deep within Wyoming’s wild bison country.

Created in partnership with the Buffalo Field Campaign, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting America’s last wild bison, the initiative blends Buffalo Trace’s heritage with the untamed beauty of the American frontier.

A Tasting Room Like No Other

Built on the open plains of Wyoming, the remote tasting room features floor-to-ceiling glass walls that offer panoramic views of wild bison roaming freely. The exclusive space is designed to reflect the brand’s values of patience, craftsmanship, and respect for nature.

“Our distillery was founded where the buffalo crossed the Kentucky River, and our flagship bourbon pays tribute to those paths,” said Andrew Duncan, Global Brand Director for Buffalo Trace Distillery. “With Perfectly Untamed, we set out to build more than a tasting room — we wanted to build a place where time could stand still.”

Exclusive, Invitation-Only Experience

The Perfectly Untamed tasting experience opens for pre-registration beginning November 12 at untamed.buffalotracedistillery.com. Six reservations will be available, each for two guests. A $500 donation to the Buffalo Field Campaign is required to confirm participation, directly supporting conservation efforts.

Guests will enjoy a private two-hour guided tasting hosted by Freddie Johnson, Buffalo Trace’s VIP Visitor Lead and Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee. The curated experience includes premium bourbon pours, crafted cocktails, and storytelling set against the remote Wyoming wilderness.

Participants will receive a $1,000 travel stipend, lodging recommendations, and a fully guided adventure designed to reflect the distillery’s “patience and purpose” philosophy.

Continuing a Legacy of Preservation

“We’re proud to continue our collaboration with Buffalo Trace in a way that highlights not just the beauty of wild bison country, but the importance of preservation,” said Justine Sanchez, President of the Board of Directors for the Buffalo Field Campaign.
