Cedar Ridge Distillery, under the expert guidance of Master Blender Murphy Quint, has proudly released the third installment in its series of limited-edition expressions of their acclaimed American Single Malt – The QuintEssential: The Untitled Cigar Malt Project.
A Whiskey Designed for Cigar Lovers
The vision behind this exceptional release was to craft a whiskey that evokes the rich experience of savoring a cigar. The Untitled Cigar Malt Project boasts bold tobacco notes, a subtle hint of smoke, a balanced character, and a lengthy finish. Master Distiller Murphy Quint emphasized, “This is a whiskey I’ve envisioned for a long time, and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together.”
Unique Aging and Finishing Process
This release is a blend of single malts initially aged in Cedar Ridge ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in a diverse range of casks, including:
- First-fill Amontillado Sherry
- Cedar Ridge Wine, a Madeira-inspired wine crafted at Cedar Ridge
- New French Oak
- New American Oak
- Char #3
- Peated Malt finished in a Ruby Port Cask
Each cask contributes significantly to the blend, with the peated malt offering a subtle smoky influence that lingers on the finish. This element was crucial to achieving the desired lingering finish, reminiscent of the subtle hint of smoke experienced after enjoying a fine cigar.
