Black Gold Imperial Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt Marries Whisky & Craft Beer
Lovingston, VA – October 16, 2025 – Virginia Distillery Co. is proud to announce the newest release in The Brewer’s Coalition, its limited-edition series of American Single Malt whiskies finished in casks from celebrated breweries across the country. The latest collaboration, Central Waters Brewing Co. Black Gold Imperial Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt, unites Virginia Distillery Co.’s bold whisky with the rich, dark character of Wisconsin’s renowned Black Gold Imperial Stout.
Just twelve barrels were sourced for this special release. Initially aged for over five years in premium ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky was then finished in Black Gold Imperial Stout casks, resulting in a complex spirit with notes of salted caramel, bright hops, and vanilla cream soda, leading to a balanced and indulgent finish. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), this release highlights the innovative spirit of The Brewer’s Coalition and celebrates Central Waters Brewing Co.’s craft beer legacy.

Central Waters Black Gold Imperial Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt will be offered in limited quantities online at shop.vadistillery.com and at select retailers nationwide. A Single Barrel version will be available exclusively at select Midwest retailers.
