The release will debut at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, with an official launch party set for September 6 at the brand’s home, Circa 1856.
Chicken Cock Whiskey has announced the release of Miller’s Reserve American Whiskey, a limited-edition blend of four aged whiskeys sourced from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia.
Honoring a Lost Legacy
Miller’s Reserve pays tribute to founder James A. Miller, whose barrels of whiskey were lost in 1860 when the steamer A.O. Tyler sank with 475 barrels aboard. “With Miller’s Reserve, we’re honoring a pivotal moment in Chicken Cock Whiskey’s early history by resurrecting the spirit of what was once lost,” said Matti Anttila, founder of Grain & Barrel Spirits. “This bold, complex blend of aged whiskeys from the Ohio River Valley offers a rare opportunity for whiskey lovers to experience a piece of American whiskey heritage reimagined.”
A Blend from the Ohio River Valley
The whiskey is bottled at 57.5% ABV (115 proof) and includes four components: a 10-year Double Oak Kentucky Whiskey, an 8-year High Rye Bourbon from Indiana, an 8-year Wheated Bourbon from West Virginia, and a 10-year Wheated Bourbon from Ohio. Blended in Bardstown, Ky., the whiskey delivers notes of caramel, fig, toasted oak, and a rye-spiced finish.
Limited Edition Collector’s Release
Miller’s Reserve features packaging inspired by Prohibition-era designs, further underscoring its historic connection. The limited release will be available online for $99.99 SRP. Chicken Cock Whiskey notes that the whiskey pairs well with a cigar and was crafted for a lingering, full-flavored experience.
