Australian distillery Archie Rose Distilling Co. is entering a new chapter with actor and entrepreneur Chris Hemsworth joining the company as a co-owner alongside founder Will Edwards.
Founded in Sydney in 2014, Archie Rose has built an international reputation for its Australian approach to whisky and spirits, and the partnership comes as the distillery prepares to launch its whiskies in the United States for the first time this fall. Founded by Will Edwards, the company operates its distillery in Botany, Sydney, with a public-facing Bar & Cellar Door in Rosebery, producing its spirits on-site.
Hemsworth, who says he has been a longtime admirer of Archie Rose, joins the company as it looks to expand its presence beyond Australia. The actor cited the distillery’s focus on Australian-grown malts and its ability to capture the character of the country in its spirits as reasons for his involvement. Archie Rose plans to introduce its whiskies to American consumers, retailers and hospitality partners across key markets beginning this fall.
Archie Rose Prepares for U.S. Whisky Launch
To support its American expansion, Archie Rose has established a distribution network led by Reyes Beverage Group as its national distribution partner, along with New York Wine & Spirits in New York and Fedway Associates in New Jersey. The U.S. launch represents a significant expansion for the Sydney-based distillery as Australian whisky continues to gain attention among international whiskey enthusiasts.
Australian Ingredients at the Heart of Archie Rose
A defining element of Archie Rose’s production philosophy is its emphasis on Australian-grown ingredients. The distillery works with local growers to source heirloom and drought-resistant grain varieties, including custom rye and barley developed specifically for Archie Rose. Its whiskies are produced using Australian-grown malts, with the company individually milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling and maturing each malt type before bringing the components together.
According to the brand, its focus on provenance and production has helped Archie Rose earn more than 450 awards worldwide, including World’s Best Rye Whisky twice, Australia’s Best Single Malt Whisky five times and World’s Best Gin. The company also became B Corp Certified in June 2026, reflecting its stated commitment to social and environmental standards, transparency and accountability.
Three Chris Hemsworth Whiskies Coming Later in 2026
The partnership will extend beyond the U.S. launch. Archie Rose and Hemsworth are developing three co-created whiskies scheduled to launch across Asia and New Zealand later in 2026, followed by expansion into the European Union and United Kingdom in 2027. The releases are expected to further showcase the distillery’s Australian ingredients and production philosophy as the country’s whisky industry gains a larger international audience.
