Jos. A. Magnus & Co. recently announced the latest release of its Cigar Blend Bourbon, the whiskey that, since its creation in 2016, effectively established a new category: American whiskey built specifically for the cigar ritual.
Cigar Blend Bourbon was developed by Master Blender Nancy Fraley, who brought her Cognac and Armagnac training into bourbon, introducing French principles of structure, oxidation, and “rancio” complexity in a deliberate, modern way — a departure from how American whiskey had traditionally been approached.
This release stays true to that original profile, blending Joseph Magnus Bourbon with select 11- and 18-year-old whiskeys and finishing the blend in Armagnac casks. The result is a rich, structured whiskey designed to stand up to and complement cigar smoking.
