Bourdon Spirits Company Acquires American Brandy Distillery, Copper & Kings, from Constellation Brands.

Bourdon Spirits Company, a newly-formed Louisville-based spirits company, has officially acquired Copper & Kings American Brandy Company from Constellation Brands. The acquisition, finalized on August 5, 2025, marks a new chapter for the nationally recognized Copper & Kings brand and in the future of American brandy.

Distillery Operations to Remain in Louisville

Production will continue at Copper & Kings’ Louisville distillery, a notable stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. Bourdon Spirits emphasized the importance of maintaining the brand’s operations in the heart of bourbon country as part of its long-term strategy. The facility will remain a destination for visitors and a central part of the brand’s identity.

Plans for Expansion and Brand Preservation

Bourdon Spirits announced plans to expand national distribution and improve the on-site visitor experience, while preserving Copper & Kings’ “creative identity and commitment to quality.” According to Rob Bourdon, Founder of Bourdon Spirits Company, “We plan to build on Copper & Kings’ legacy by honoring its roots and continuing to do things our own way, just as the brand always has.”

A New Chapter for a Trailblazing Brand

Rob Bourdon further stated, “We’re honored to welcome Copper & Kings into our family and lead its next chapter right here in Louisville. This is a brand that respects tradition while creating with a distinct, American-made spirit.” The acquisition aims to elevate American brandy to broader audiences across the country.
