SAN FRANCISCO, May 29, 2024 – Daftmill Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is thrilled to introduce a first for the U.S. market – the Daftmill 2010 Cask Strength (58.7% ABV; 700ml; $324.99 SRP). This exclusive limited edition vintage from the family-owned and operated Lowland Distillery is crafted from 15 first-fill ex-bourbon casks, resulting in 2,400 bottles available in the U.S. starting this month.
A Unique Farm Distillery with Rich Heritage
Located in Fife on Scotland’s East coast, Daftmill is celebrated as a true farm distillery, pioneering the Lowland Malt revival. As the country’s only Single Estate Farm Distillery, Daftmill set a precedent, leading to the current landscape of 20 operational or developing Lowland distilleries. Daftmill’s annual production is limited to just 100 casks, utilizing 100% single estate barley and following a distinctive seasonal distillation schedule – two months each in summer and winter.
Family-Run Craftsmanship
The distillery is helmed by brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert, whose family has managed the land since the 1980s, with a history as tenant farmers prior. Distillation at Daftmill began in 2005, with the first whisky released in 2018 after a 12-year maturation. This Cask Strength expression, the first available in the U.S., is a 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch aged in 15 first-fill ex-bourbon casks, distilled between January and July 2010.
Tasting Notes

- Finish: Dominated by wood spice, with warming waves of cinnamon and dried ginger.
