The Bourbon Lens is excited to continue to expand our tastebuds with an upcoming podcast featuring The Dalmore. Over the next several weeks, we will explore the four different pours we tasted with Craig Bridger during our interview, starting with The Dalmore 12-year-old Highland Single Malt Whisky.
Just the Facts:
Proof: 80
Age: 12 Years Old
Mash Bill: 100% malted barley
Style: Scotch Single Malt
MSRP: $87.99 Buy Here
Jake’s Tasting Notes: Dalmore 12 Year
Color: Dark Honey
Nose: Soft vanilla, plum, and cherry. The malt shines up front on the nose for me.
Palate: The pour is traditional single malt to me. It carries orchard fruit on the tip of the tongue like honey crisp apples, slight nuttiness and oak characteristics, followed by a mellow finish of the plum and cherry notes from the nose.
Finish: Balanced finished across the palate, making you want to dive back in for more.
Closing Thoughts
What a great way to kick off The Dalmore podcast preparation. This pour is smooth and easy to drink. Perfect for the winter nights ahead with the deep flavors, while not giving you a “Kentucky Hug”. I now see why our good friend, Bob, drinks Scotch in the winter because the flavors are made for each other!
