New: Glenfiddich 14 Review

From the Hills of Scotland to the Bluegrass of Kentucky

In a recent podcast with Willam Grant and Sons, Tim Pitts shared the title slogan with me for Glenfiddich 14. At that moment in one of our rare non sipping podcast I knew I had to find that bottle! Let me share my thoughts!

Just the facts:

Proof: 86

Age: 14 Years Old

Mash bill: 100% Malted Barely

Style: 100 % Ex-Bourbon Cask

Jake’s tasting notes: Glenfiddich 14

Nose: cinnamon, vanilla, a hint of cherry and pepper

Palate: The first sip is full of malty, bready goodness.  As the pour sits on your palate the more delicate vanilla, oak, spicy notes come through.  In this two oz pour the flavors are consistent which makes this a very easy drinker!

Finish: medium

Closing Thoughts:

If you are looking to try single malt scotch whiskey as a bourbon drinker, Glenfiddich 14 might be the perfect place to start!
