20th Anniversary Limited Edition Honors American Whiskey Innovation.
Heaven Hill Distillery has announced the release of Bernheim Original Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey 20th Anniversary Limited Edition, commemorating two decades since the brand introduced a wheat-forward American whiskey style.
First launched in 2005, Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey was positioned as the first new American Whiskey style introduced since Prohibition, using soft winter wheat as its primary grain. The release is recognized as an early contributor to the broader expansion of American whiskey styles.
What the Milestone Release Means
“This release is both a celebration and a thank you,” said Max L. Shapira, Executive Chairman of Heaven Hill Brands. “When we launched Bernheim Wheat Whiskey 20 years ago, we took a chance on a new mashbill and a new idea. The support we received in those early days helped shape not only this brand, but the expansion in popularity of different styles of American Whiskey we continue to see today.”
10-Year-Old, 115 Proof Expression
The 20th Anniversary Limited Edition is crafted from Bernheim’s signature soft winter wheat recipe and features a selection of barrels aged 10 years. The whiskey is bottled at 115 proof (57.5% ABV). It was produced at the Bernheim Distillery and aged in rickhouses in Bardstown, Kentucky.
According to the distillery, the whiskey presents notes of cinnamon and baking spices with vanilla and oak on the nose, followed by molasses and butterscotch on the palate, and a peppery finish.
Limited Nationwide Availability
Bernheim Original Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey 20th Anniversary Limited Edition is available in limited quantities nationwide with a suggested retail price of $84.99. The commemorative packaging includes a copper plate on the bottle to denote its limited-edition status.
