This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, part of the acclaimed Origin Series, boasts a unique mashbill featuring 39% wheat, one of the highest percentages in the bourbon category. High Wheat Bourbon is crafted with a low barrel entry proof of 108, designed to maximize wood sugar extraction, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile. Tasting notes include ripe apricot, lemon, leather, and crème brûlée on the nose, followed by a bold palate of oak and pastry, leading to a lightly spiced, full-bodied finish.
Nick Smith, Director of Distillation and Head Distiller at Bardstown Bourbon Co., worked closely with Master Distiller Steve Nally, known as the “Wheat King,” to perfect this distillate. The result is a standout whiskey that is both elegant and complex.
