King of Kentucky has announced its 2025 release, a high-proof, single-barrel bourbon aged for 17 years.

Now in its eighth year since returning to market, the brand remains one of the most limited and sought-after American whiskeys.

Only 63 Barrels Selected for 2025

“This is the ultimate expression of American whiskey—a bold, robust bourbon that has been aged to perfection,” said Brown-Forman Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris. “These 63 barrels, personally selected and tasted from the highest-quality warehouses, are a true masterpiece.”

The 2025 release comes from 63 barrels located on the 4th floor of Warehouse J and the 1st floor of Warehouse G at the Brown-Forman Distillery. The bourbon was distilled on two production dates in 2007.

Limited Production, High Proof

Only 5,000 bottles were produced for this year’s release. Proofs range from 124.4 to 135, reflecting the barrel strength character of each individual selection. Each bottle is hand-filled, wax-dipped, and numbered, then packaged in a custom canister that includes detailed information such as proof, age, warehouse location, lot number, serial number, and barrel number.

Historic Brand with Modern Revival

King of Kentucky was originally established in 1881 as a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Brown-Forman acquired the brand in 1936 and discontinued it in 1968. The label was revived in 2018, paying tribute to its heritage, but annual production remains highly limited due to the scarcity of available barrels.

Highly Allocated Availability

The 2025 King of Kentucky release carries a suggested retail price of $399 per bottle. Distribution will remain highly allocated due to limited supply.
