Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength Showcases Full-Flavored Bourbon at Barrel Proof

The James B. Beam Distilling Co. has announced the release of Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength, a limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged for 12 years and bottled at 121.2 proof. The release presents Knob Creek’s full-bodied character at cask strength, with flavors of caramel, dried apple, butterscotch and seasoned oak followed by a warm, subtly spiced finish.

12-Year-Old Bourbon Selected From 10 Distinct Lots

Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength was matured in charred American white oak barrels and selected from 10 distinct lots in the brand’s Clermont, Kentucky, rickhouses. The bourbon is batched and bottled at cask strength, with the brand recommending it be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. It is bottled at 60.6% ABV.

“Knob Creek has always been about giving great bourbon the time it deserves. After twelve years in the rickhouse, this batch had the depth and full flavor we were looking for, and we knew we wanted to share it exactly as it was,” said Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller at the James B. Beam Distilling Co. “Cask strength means the barrel gets the final say, and with this one, we were more than glad to listen.”

According to Beam, the bourbon opens with aromas of caramel, char and dried apple. The palate features butterscotch, dried apple and seasoned oak, while the finish brings caramel and subtle cinnamon. Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength carries a suggested retail price of $89.99 for a 750ml bottle.
