Black and Gold Select a limited-edition release from Laws, the Official Whiskey of CU Athletics, blends CU pride with Colorado craftsmanship to support student-athletes through the 5430 Alliance
Laws Whiskey House has expanded its partnership with the University of Colorado Athletics. Laws launches a limited edition bourbon called Black and Gold Select Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This release features a blend from five select barrels chosen by CU Athletics Director Rick George and the Laws team, merging CU pride with Colorado craftsmanship. A portion of the proceeds will support the 5430 Alliance, which benefits CU student-athletes across all sports.
The founder of Laws Whiskey House, Al Laws, highlights that while their first collaboration, Ralphie’s Reserve, introduced a sweeter whiskey suited for cocktails, the Black and Gold Select is designed for whiskey enthusiasts. This limited-edition bourbon is a bold, high-proof blend made from barrels aged between four and nine years, offering a more complex tasting experience with unique flavors.
With the previous release garnering positive responses from Buffs fans, the Black and Gold Select Straight Bourbon is expected to receive similar enthusiasm. Its rich profile features aromas of cherry wood and vanilla bean, complemented by flavors such as honey, orange spice tea, and nutty almond butter, culminating in a balanced finish. Retailing at $129.99, it is available at the Laws Whiskey House Tasting Room, online, and in select stores, including Hazel’s Beverage World in Boulder.
