Nose: Bold caramel, vanilla, light smokiness, black tea and hints of citrus.
Palate: Slightly astringent with the youth of the blend. The bourbon fades to burnt sugars, vanilla, pepper and citrus. There was lingering bitterness followed by rich flavors of pipe tobacco, leather and herbal tea.
Finish: Dark chocolate and oak
Closing Thoughts
This bottle was from the Barreled and Boxed program that we featured a few years ago and it doesn’t disappoint revisiting a few years later. Little Book is a great way to see what innovation looks like at a massive distillery such as James B. Beam Distilling Co.
