Maker’s Mark Embraces Age Statements for Cask Strength Expression.
Maker’s Mark has announced the debut of a new bottle and label design for its Maker’s Mark Cask Strength bourbon, beginning a phased rollout across U.S. shelves in 2026. The update includes a premium glass bottle and an added precise age statement, a reflection of an emphasis on transparency and craftsmanship.
The redesign marks a visual evolution for one of Maker’s Mark’s most foundational expressions, positioning Cask Strength with a bolder shelf presence while maintaining its role as a core offering in the distillery’s portfolio.
Maker’s Mark Innovation
Maker’s Mark Cask Strength is blended and bottled straight from the barrel and is widely regarded as the truest expression of the brand’s distillation and aging philosophy. According to Maker’s Mark, it serves as the starting point for many of the brand’s innovations, including Maker’s Mark 46, Cellar Aged, and the Wood Finishing Series.
Unlike time-driven aging, Maker’s Mark Cask Strength is aged “to taste,” with barrels selected once they reach the desired balance of flavor. As a result, each batch varies slightly in proof and age.
Age, Proof, and Production Details
Each batch of Maker’s Mark Cask Strength typically ranges between 7 and 8 years old, with proofs varying between 107 and 114 proof (53.5%–57% ABV). The brand notes that its lower barrel entry proof compared to much of the category contributes to a smoother and more approachable profile, even at cask strength.
The updated label highlights batch-specific details, reinforcing Maker’s Mark’s focus on precision blending and transparency for bourbon fans.
“In many ways, Maker’s Mark Cask Strength is where it all begins for us – straight from the barrel with the inviting warmth and velvety mouthfeel Maker’s Mark is known for, only amplified with notes of dark cherry, toasted oak, salted caramel, plenty of warm vanilla, and a harmonious finish of dark chocolate and soft spices,” said Dr. Blake Layfield, Master Distiller, Maker’s Mark.
“We’re thrilled to showcase Cask Strength in a new premium glass bottle, and adding the age statement underscores that our spirit is precisely aged to taste and meticulously blended, while also delivering the transparency and batch specific details bourbon lovers are looking for,” Layfield added.
Availability and Pricing
The redesigned Maker’s Mark Cask Strength is currently arriving at retailers and will continue rolling out throughout 2026. The bourbon carries a suggested retail price of $49.99 and will be available nationwide at U.S. retailers.
