Cheers to the end of Prohibition!

Remus Bourbon has announced the release of its highly anticipated Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a tribute to the end of Prohibition. Crafted by the historic Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, this limited-edition bourbon will be available starting September 2025.

A Tribute to Prohibition’s Repeal

Series IX is the ninth annual release in the award-winning Repeal Reserve collection. This year’s blend is the highest proof ever for the series at 104 proof (52% ABV) and is non-chill filtered. The bourbon is aged between 10 and 18 years, showcasing the distillery’s finest high-rye stocks.

The Blend Breakdown

Master Distiller Ian Stirsman selected a medley of four bourbons:

  • 7% of an 18-year-old bourbon (21% rye)
  • 26% of an 11-year-old bourbon (36% rye)
  • 23% of a 10-year-old bourbon (36% rye)
  • 44% of a second 10-year-old bourbon (21% rye)

“Bourbon fans have always expected something new from each edition of Remus Repeal Reserve,” said Stirsman. “That’s why for Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX, we found some of our most unique barrels to date… In the end, we believe the 104 proof, combined with 10–18-year-old bourbons, did just that.”

Tasting Notes

Remus Repeal Reserve Series IX offers a rich sensory experience:

  • Nose: Seasoned oak, leather, ripe sweet cherry, subtle tobacco
  • Palate: Cherry, roasted coffee, smoky spice
  • Finish: Lingering oak and spice fading into coffee, cherry, and tobacco

Availability & Pricing

This limited release will be available in select markets starting in September 2025 at a minimum suggested retail price of $99.99 per 750mL bottle.
