Old Fitzgerald Bourbon has teamed up with potter and designer Jonathan Adler to introduce the limited-edition Jonathan Adler x Old Fitzgerald Backgammon Set.

The collaboration combines the Kentucky whiskey brand’s heritage with Adler’s modern American design style, creating a collectible game set intended for gatherings, game nights and holiday entertaining.

Old Fitzgerald Backgammon Set Combines Classic and Modern Design

The new backgammon set incorporates Jonathan Adler’s bold patterns and playful motifs alongside signature Old Fitzgerald design elements. These include the brand’s familiar green color palette and a brushed brass key motif inspired by its longtime “Your Key to Hospitality” tagline.

According to the brand, Old Fitzgerald has emphasized both whiskey and presentation since the late 1800s. Its iconic decanter bottle, introduced in the 1950s, helped establish the brand’s connection with well-appointed tables and bar displays. The new collaboration draws on that history while bringing the brand into a different category of collectible design.

“Bourbon and backgammon have always been a timeless pairing, united by tradition, ritual and the belief that the best things are meant to be savored and enjoyed in good company – a sentiment at the core of Old Fitzgerald,” said Leslie Word, Brand Manager of Old Fitzgerald. “Jonathan Adler was the ideal partner to reimagine this pairing through a modern lens, bringing his signature talent for turning everyday objects into conversation pieces to a set that celebrates Old Fitzgerald’s spirted heritage in an exciting new medium.”

“Design inspiration can come from anywhere, even a glass of whiskey,” said Jonathan Adler. “The backgammon set I created with Old Fitzgerald takes my favorite game and makes it even more glamorous. Old Fitzgerald and I nailed it, if I do say so myself.”

A Backgammon Set Designed for Whiskey Gatherings

The limited-edition set is designed for occasions ranging from cocktail hours and game nights to holiday gatherings. Old Fitzgerald also highlights its Bottled-in-Bond 7-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon as a companion for the game. Introduced as a year-round expression in 2025, the bourbon can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.

Old Fitzgerald x Jonathan Adler Set Available for $425

The Jonathan Adler x Old Fitzgerald Backgammon Set is available now for $425 through the Heaven Hill Distillery Shop, with select quantities also offered through Jonathan Adler’s website. Sets ordered by December 14 are scheduled to ship in time for arrival ahead of the holidays.
