FRANKFORT, Ky. — September 3, 2025 — The Kentucky Distillers’ Association (KDA) proudly welcomes Purple Toad Winery & Distillery of Paducah as its newest member, further strengthening the KDA’s mission to unite global brands and emerging craft distilleries in promoting and protecting Kentucky’s iconic spirits industry.

From Winery to Distillery: A Bold New Chapter

Located at 4275 Old US Hwy 45 South, Purple Toad Distillery began operations in 2024, following McCracken County’s approval of liquor sales in the 2023 general election. The 2,500-square-foot distillery now produces:

  • Kentucky Straight Bourbon
  • Whiskeys
  • Vodka
  • Agave spirits

The distillery uses innovative techniques that repurpose winemaking byproducts to reduce waste and enhance sustainability.

“Our winemaking experience drives us to create bold spirits through byproduct reuse, profile experimentation, and unconventional approaches,” said Steven Dossey, General Manager and Winemaker.

KDA Welcomes a New Visionary Member

“Their presence in Paducah enhances Western Kentucky as a destination for craft spirits and tourism,” said Eric Gregory, KDA President. “We’re excited to support their journey in elevating Kentucky’s distilled spirits legacy.”

Purple Toad joins the KDA as a Craft-level member, aging fewer than 10,000 barrels per year.

A Growing Spirits Industry in Western Kentucky

  • Generates $9 billion in economic impact
