LAWRENCEBURG, IN (March 10, 2025) – Remus Bourbon, the award-winning brand produced at the historic Ross & Squibb Distillery, has announced the highly anticipated release of Remus Master Distiller Experimental Series No. 2. This launch marks a significant milestone for the brand as its first-ever straight wheat whiskey.

Following the gold-medal success of Series No. 1, this second installment continues Master Distiller Ian Stirsman’s mission to push traditional boundaries. By utilizing heirloom grains and unconventional finishing techniques, the series serves as a creative laboratory for the Indiana-based distillery.

A Bold Mashbill Meets a Quadruple Cask Finish

Distilled in 2017, Experimental Series No. 2 features a unique 95% wheat whiskey mashbill. To add layers of complexity, the whiskey underwent a sophisticated finishing process in a combination of Tawny Port, White Port, Oloroso Sherry, and Ruby Port casks.

The result is a high-proof, 113-proof spirit that delivers a rich, dessert-forward profile:

Nose: Dark chocolate and almond praline.
Palate: Chocolate, malty sweetness, and a subtle earthiness.
Finish: Lingering notes of chocolate and malt fading into a gentle nuttiness.

The series is designed to offer adventurous whiskey collectors something they cannot find in the core Remus lineup.
