The Calistoga Depot Distillery brings you Durant & Booth Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels. This bourbon peaked my interest with a 5 year age statement and a unique mashbill. Not to mention is finished in one of my favorite red wines let’s dive into our latest review!

Tasting Notes: Durant & Booth Aged in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels
Nose: Cracked pepper, baked apple pie with cinnamon and nutmeg, fig jam and zest of lemon.
Palate: On the palate the red fruits begin to shine. Citrus brightens the palate while you get a slight astringency from the whiskey overall. As it continues to open up there are notes of grape, caramel and more earthy notes.
Finish: Caramel and red fruits
Closing Thoughts:
I liked Durant and Booth quite a bit. Do you like red wine finished bourbons? Because I am sucker for one. I would have a glass at a bar but not sure I would buy a whole bottle.
