Are you ready for Russel’s Reserve 13 with 9 more proof points?

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky., June 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Russell’s Reserve, an award-winning bourbon brand, announces the highly anticipated return of its fan-favorite Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old Bourbon. This limited-edition release, batched at a bold 123.8 barrel proof for 2025, will hit shelves later this summer while supplies last.

A Legacy of Excellence

Renowned for its commitment to crafting only the finest whiskeys, Russell’s Reserve brings back its revered 13 Year Old Bourbon with a unique barrel proof. Each batch now features its distinct proof and production season on the label, making every release a collectible for bourbon enthusiasts.

“This release of Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old is special to me not only because it celebrates our legacy, but because it represents a new chapter in the evolution of this bourbon,” said Eddie Russell, Master Distiller at Wild Turkey Distilling Co. “Each release is a labor of love and a reflection of the time and care we put into crafting every bottle. This one carries the signature profile the 13 is known for, but with enhanced cola notes that bring a new depth of flavor. I’m excited to share this new iteration with our fans because I think they’re going to love drinking it as much as I enjoyed making it.”

Crafted with Precision

First introduced in 2021 at 114.8 proof, the 13 Year Old Bourbon is non-chill filtered and crafted from a small batch of barrels hand-selected by Master Distiller Eddie Russell. Bottled in Spring 2025, this release offers a rich, full-bodied experience with enhanced molasses and cola notes, building on the brand’s signature dark fruit and brown sugar profile.

  • Proof: 123.8
  • Aroma: Vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, cherry, clove, nutmeg, and a hint of the distillery’s signature dusty funk.
  • Taste: Sweet cola, molasses, and dark fruit, transitioning to lighter fruit cobbler and buttercream notes.
  • Finish: Long-lasting with mature oak, char, deep oak spice, and a touch of black pepper.

Following Acclaimed Success

The 2025 release follows the 2024 debut of Russell’s Reserve 15 Year Old, named Top American Whiskey of the Year by spirits critic Fred Minnick. Matured in the distillery’s historic rickhouses, the 13 Year Old reflects the time and place of its creation, offering bourbon lovers a complex and unforgettable sip.
