LAWRENCEBURG, KY (October 15, 2025) – Award-winning Russell’s Reserve proudly announces the release of Single Rickhouse 2025 – Camp Nelson E, the fourth edition in its acclaimed Single Rickhouse Collection. This year’s release continues to explore the concept of bourbon terroir, highlighting how a rickhouse’s unique location and environment shape the whiskey’s flavor and character.
Now available in select U.S. markets, the 2025 Camp Nelson E release reveals an entirely new profile influenced by shade, airflow, and the cooler aging conditions of the iconic Camp Nelson E rickhouse.
Exploring the Influence of Camp Nelson E
Built in 1946, Camp Nelson E sits deep among the trees along the Kentucky River, running north to south and experiencing unique wind patterns and consistent shading. The rickhouse’s dirt-floor “basement” level creates one of the coolest microclimates on the property — resulting in slower, more nuanced barrel aging compared to the sun-soaked Camp Nelson B, featured in last year’s release.
For this special 2025 edition, Master Distiller Eddie Russell selected barrels exclusively from the fifth floor of the seven-story rickhouse. The result is a non-chill filtered, barrel-proof bourbon (128 proof) — the highest-proof Russell’s Reserve release to date — crafted for discerning bourbon enthusiasts and collectors.
“Camp Nelson E is one of the most interesting aging environments we have, completely different from where we’ve pulled from in the past,” said Master Distiller Eddie Russell. “The barrels from the fifth floor have this beautiful balance of dark fruit, baking spice, and rich oak that felt true to Russell’s Reserve, but also completely its own.”
