BALTIMORE, Md. – October 6, 2025 – Sagamore Spirit, the award-winning Maryland rye distillery, proudly announces the promotion of Ryan Norwood from Vice President of Operations to Master Distiller. After nearly a decade with the distillery, Norwood now takes the helm of innovation and production, shaping the next chapter of Sagamore Spirit’s legacy.

Joining Sagamore Spirit in 2016 and helping launch the Baltimore distillery in 2017, Norwood has become an integral part of the brand’s story. His hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of distilling and operations has prepared him to lead the team in crafting the next generation of Maryland-style rye whiskey.
