LOUISVILLE, KY (November 18, 2025) – Sazerac de Forge & Fils Cognac today introduces three exceptional new expressions—XO, Grande Champagne Vintage 2000, and 50-Year-Old—each crafted to revive the historic character of Cognac as it existed more than two centuries ago. Drawing inspiration from the original 1782 house founded by Bernard Sazerac de Forge, these releases reflect the domaine’s mission to remain “true to the vine” by embracing varietal diversity, regional expression, and classic Cognac-making methods.

Reestablished in 2019 by global spirits company Sazerac—owners of Buffalo Trace Distillery and Hawk’s Rock Distillery—the modern-day domaine cultivates organically in Segonzac, the heart of Grande Champagne, while also sourcing rare aged stocks from across the region. The result is a Cognac portfolio that honors the finesse of pre-phylloxera traditions while appealing to today’s enthusiasts.

“At Sazerac de Forge, every expression is crafted with care to showcase the unique character of its carefully selected eaux-de-vie,” says Cellar Master Denis Lahouratate. “Our blends are patiently shaped over time, developing complexity and depth. Others are released as vintages, capturing their singular qualities. In every case, the goal is the same: a Cognac that reveals individuality and artistry.”

Sazerac de Forge XO

A blend of eaux-de-vie aged for more than 20 years, Sazerac de Forge XO (43% ABV) delivers a silky, aromatic profile marked by dried fruits, warm spice, florals, and natural sweetness. Presented in a rounded clear-glass bottle with a natural cork and signature satin blue ribbon—reviving the historic “Sazerac Blue”—this flagship expression is now available in select U.S. markets at an SRP of $149.99/750ML.

Sazerac de Forge Grande Champagne Vintage 2000

The first vintage release from the resurrected house, Grande Champagne 2000 (44.8% ABV) is distilled from a single harvest and matured more than two decades in French oak. Unblended and expressive, it showcases ripe stone fruit, exotic florals, and a rounded, elegant palate. Offered in a curved clear-glass bottle with cream, blue, and gold-accented packaging, this limited vintage is available nationwide at an SRP of $449.99/700ML.

Sazerac de Forge 50-Year-Old

A rare blend of three eaux-de-vie from 1970, 1971, and 1974, each left untouched for over fifty years in small French oak barrels, the 50-Year-Old (43% ABV) delivers layered notes of dried fruits, figs, tobacco, macadamia nut, and dark chocolate. Its crystal decanter, adorned with the Sazerac de Forge crest, underscores the prestige of this extraordinary release. Available in highly limited quantities, it retails at an SRP of $3,999.99/700ML.

“Cognac’s richness lies not only in flavor, but also in the generations of knowledge behind its craft,” adds Jess Scheerhorn, Vice President, Sazerac de Forge. “We created these expressions for those who seek to experience Cognac the way it was originally intended in 1782.”

A limited selection of the Sazerac de Forge & Fils portfolio can also be purchased via Legacy de Forge, a new global platform powered by Blockbar, offering direct access to some of the world’s most collectible spirits (shipping restrictions apply).
