Veteran Whiskey Leader Brings Five Decades of Experience to Kentucky Distillery’s Production and Operations Team
FRANKFORT, KY – October 23, 2025 – Castle & Key Distillery, a leader in Kentucky craft spirits, proudly announces the appointment of Sherrie Moore as Whisky Plant Manager.
A whiskey industry veteran with nearly 50 years of experience, Moore joins Castle & Key to oversee production and operations, bringing a legacy of innovation and excellence to the next chapter of the historic distillery.
Moore began her career in 1975 at Jack Daniel’s Distillery, where she gained expertise across every facet of whiskey-making — from distillation and maturation to warehousing, bottling, and quality control. Over three decades, she advanced through leadership roles including Plant Manager, Director of Production, and Assistant Vice President.
Her passion for barrels and maturation led to groundbreaking initiatives in barrel yield optimization, filtration improvements, and continuous-improvement programs — innovations still used throughout the whiskey industry today.
“Sherrie’s breadth and depth of experience is unmatched,” said Will Arvin, Co-Founder of Castle & Key. “Her attention to detail, coupled with her passion for whiskey, make her an ideal leader as we expand our operations and elevate our production standards. We are honored to have her guiding our team.”
Throughout her career, Moore has been widely respected not only for her technical expertise but also for her mentorship and leadership within the whiskey community.
“I have loved this industry since the day I started,” said Moore. “From the distillery floor to the warehouse, I believe every single step matters in making great whiskey. I’m thrilled to bring my experience and passion to Castle & Key as we continue building on the Kentucky distilling legacy.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Sherrie Moore as Plant Manager at Castle & Key,” added Will Arvin. “Her deep knowledge of distilling expertise and leadership come at a pivotal moment as we expand our operations and invest in the future of the distillery. Sherrie’s guidance will not only strengthen our production team but also ensure that the quality and innovation at the heart of Castle & Key continue to flourish for years to come.”
