This is a Must-Taste Rye Whiskey Finished in VDN Orange Wine Casks

The latest single barrel selection from Bourbon Lens is available now. We’ve teamed up with Starlight Distillery to craft a 5 year old straight rye whiskey finished for 11 months in a unique, VDN Wine Cask. VDN, or Vino de Naranja, is an Orange Wine produced in Huelva and Malaga in Andaluica, Spain. VDN is made with white wine that has been macerated with fresh orange peel.

Typically, the Huber Family at Starlight finish the whiskey for 3-8 months, but this rye continued to develop flavor and complexity for a full 11 months. This is a top notch craft whiskey that has been amplified thanks to the Huber Family’s wine and barrel aging expertise. You don’t want to miss out on this one. And you don’t have to thanks to our fulfilment partner at Shared Pour who has a wide distribution network in the United States. It’s available now for purchase, shipping straight to your door from SharedPour.com

Here are the Tasting Notes from Bourbon Lens:

This is a 5 year old straight rye that spent an extended time finishing in a VDN cask to make it the oldest VDN finish to date. It clocks in at 104.8 Proof (52.4% abv).

On the nose, baked apples and cinnamon spice balance each other nicely. The palate reminds me of lemon and angel food cakes with some smokiness and caramelized orange.

The finish pops with bright and lingering citrus notes and has a nice warming touch and is medium in length.

Grab your bottle now as you don’t want to miss this unique, flavor-packed rye whiskey.
