SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (February 23, 2026) – As the distilled spirits industry enters a new era of disciplined growth, The Blending House has officially opened its doors in Shelbyville. This 30,000-square-foot facility, situated on 108 acres, is a collaboration between the premier consulting firm The Spirits Group and The Koetter Group, designed to provide essential infrastructure for brands looking to scale without the massive capital burden of private distillery construction.
The Blending House offers a vertically integrated solution for post-distillation needs, including state-of-the-art barrel storage, expert sensory blending, and precision bottling.
A Specialized Hub for Blending and Bottling
Unlike many facilities where contract bottling is a secondary priority, The Blending House was “built to bottle.” The facility features:
- Custom Bottling Lines: Supporting formats from 200 mL to 1.75 L with a capacity for 250,000 cases annually.
- Artisan Precision: A dedicated secondary line for hand-finished and custom small-batch products.
- Master Blending Lab: Led by renowned Master Blender Ashley Barnes, providing warehouse profiling, flavor projection, and product development.
CEO Monica Wolf Brown explains:
“As the distilled spirits industry evolves, the strategies that built brands over the past decade won’t necessarily sustain them in the decade ahead. We built The Blending House to give brands a reliable base of operations, allowing producers to protect quality, operate efficiently, and grow without the capital burden of building and operating their own facility. Currently, there are no other facilities like it in Kentucky or the United States. We were built to bottle, with no competing priorities. When brands work with us, they know their production isn’t an afterthought; it’s our core mission.”
Innovative K-RAX® Barrel Storage
The campus also showcases The Koetter Group’s K-RAX® Premium Barrel Storage system. Seven state-of-the-art rickhouses, each holding 20,000 barrels, are already complete with over 120,000 barrels currently on site. The system is engineered for optimal airflow and even maturation, utilizing 3D barrel mapping for real-time inventory management.
Director of Operations, Matt King, adds:
“Our facility layout, equipment, and overall concept allow us to put our customers first, with flexibility to align our operations around their timelines and standards. Our mission is to be a trusted partner, treating every brand with the same level of care as if it were our own.”
Partnering with Champions
The facility is already a home for high-profile brands, including Ten Runner Bourbon Whiskey, founded by NASCAR Champion Ryan Blaney.
Ryan Blaney, Founder of Ten Runner, comments:
“One of the most important things to have when trying to accomplish something big is to surround yourself with a great team. When I decided to create Ten Runner, I turned to Monica, Ashley, and The Blending House to help craft a truly special blend of the highest quality. They have been excellent to work with and have become a key part of our growing success.”
End-to-End Brand Support
Beyond production, The Blending House offers “white-glove” back-office support, including packaging development, logistics, bookkeeping, and domestic distribution guidance, ensuring brands have a comprehensive team behind them from barrel to bottle.
