Town Branch Distillery, the 7th member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, has released two limited, blended-to-order whiskeys as part of its annual allocated program. The 2025 release features Town Branch® Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and Town Branch® 7-Year Kentucky Single Malt Whiskey, both designed to highlight the distillery’s balance of tradition and innovation.

A Return of the Rye

Town Branch® Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, bottled at 100 proof, has previously been recognized by Forbes as one of the Best Rye Whiskeys. Allocated since 2022 to preserve blending stocks, it now returns as part of this year’s release. The whiskey uses a mash bill of 90% rye, 5% corn, and 5% malted barley and is blended from barrels aged between 4 and 9 years. Only 475 cases are available for the 2025 release.

The rye presents a deep golden amber appearance, with aromas of cocoa, honey, oak, cherry, dried fruits, pecan pie, cinnamon, and leather. Its palate offers notes of candy apple, citrus, toffee, oak, allspice, dry pepper, and prunes, finishing with a gentle touch of spearmint.

Kentucky Single Malt Showcases Age and Craft

Alongside the rye, Town Branch® 7-Year Kentucky Single Malt Whiskey highlights the distillery’s work with one of whiskey’s emerging categories. Made from 100% malted barley and aged in upcycled bourbon and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale barrels, it carries an age range of 7 to 10 years. Bottled at 87 proof, approximately 487 cases will be released in 2025.

The single malt shows a light golden honey color with aromas of green apple, citrus, almond, honey, cinnamon, and stewed pears. Flavor notes include oak, walnut, bread crust, apricot, vanilla, molasses, and honey, finishing with oak, dried fruit, and nutmeg. Town Branch states it holds the oldest Kentucky Single Malt stocks in the world.

Innovation Meets Accessibility

Town Branch emphasizes its move to a blend-to-order approach, using micro-blends and expanded age ranges to refine flavor. “Don’t just make something, make something great,” said Robert Krass, Managing Director at Town Branch Distillery. “The team is under strict instruction not to stop until they love it—for example, our straight rye whiskey alone took over 15 micro-blends before we got it right, but we got it.”

Both whiskeys carry a suggested retail price of $49.99, positioning them as accessible options within categories where comparable bottles often cost significantly more.
