Islay, Scotland – August 28, 2025 – Renowned Islay distillery Bunnahabhain proudly announces the U.S. release of Turas Math No.1, the inaugural expression in its new Westering Home Collection. This limited-edition single malt celebrates Bunnahabhain’s maritime heritage and spirit of exploration.
Named after the Scots Gaelic phrase “Turas Math” — meaning “good journey” — this release invites whisky lovers to embark on a flavorful voyage.
Crafted with Coastal Elegance and Depth
Created by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez, Turas Math No.1 blends two distinct cask journeys:
- 15 years in Manzanilla sherry casks from Jerez, Spain — delivering saline elegance, roasted nuts, and dried fruit
- 5 years in Amarone wine casks from Veneto, Italy — following 10 years in refill oak, adding rich dark fruit, treacle toffee, and herbal warmth
“With Turas Math No.1, I wanted to capture the feeling of setting out on a journey — full of anticipation, contrast, and discovery,” said Fernandez.
