Scott’s Tasting Notes: Wolves Whiskey Lot 1 American Single Malt

  • Nose: Tootsie Roll chocolate, woodiness, smokey and cocoa.
  • Palate: Tobacco, herbally/hoppy, funky, milk chocolate, and orange peel
  • Finish: Finish was medium and drying but fairly complex. Spice lingers with orange peel and a fruity bitterness like a hoppy beer.

Closing Thoughts

Wolves Whiskey is a luxury whiskey brand with a price and limited availability to match. I went into this tasting with no expectations as this sample was the first time trying anything from Wolves Whiskey. I am a fan of American Single Malt and am happy to report that Wolves Whiskey has created a complex, flavorful single malt that is going to win over anyone looking to dive into the world of single malts. Wolves has uncovered a lot of flavor in their use of a malted barley as the exclusive grain for this whiskey.
