Sipping Woodinville Whiskey Private Select

Day 28 of Bourbon Heritage Month

This bottle was a gift from my dad as he drove back from a vacation. When he gifted me this bourbon I didn’t know much about Woodinville Whiskey. Fast forward a few years I know all about Woodinville Whiskey and excited to re-examine this Woodinville Whiskey Private Select from Jackson Bottle Shoppe.

Just the facts: Woodinville Whiskey Private Select

  • Style: Straight Bourbon Whiskey
  • Mashbill:
  • Proof: 121.98
  • Price: This was a gift, not sure of the price!

Jake’s tasting notes: Woodinville Whiskey Private Select

Nose: brown sugar, honey, lemon are abundant and set up this pour to smell a lot like a hot toddy.

Palate: For 121.98 it doesn’t drink that hot on the palate.  It is full of almond butter and honey meet the palate up front. On the second sip there is a hint of lemon from nose that shows up, berry compote and allspice

Finish: The first sip warms you but the second pour drinks more subtly and finishes with sweet almond butter notes

Closing thoughts

I highly enjoyed this private select from Woodinville! I now need to explore more from Woodinville Whiskey. Have your tried their pours?
