Jake’s Tasting Notes:
Color: Amber
Nose: As you approach your buddies backyard and pick up the subtle smell of a barbeque knowing you are in for a tasty treat. That is all I can think about when smelling this whiskey. But there is much more to the nose than just that the vanilla, honey and citrus balance the smokiness of the barrels and wood staves.
Palate: The first sip you are met with fruit forward character of baked apples, which fades to the maltiness of the grain. The blend has complex flavors that roll like a wave on your palate. The back of the palate you meet the smokiness from the woods.
Finish: It has a full finish, not a Kentucky hug but you know you drank it. It leaves the mouth tingly with the variety of flavors from this blend.
Closing Thoughts
American Single Malt is a movement that even the largest distilleries in the world recognize from Jack D to Jim B they understand the importance of this movement. Little Book Chapter 6: “To The Finish” may be the most unique batch yet but certainly is a whiskey made for the current moment we live in.
