Today however, we continue to preview this awesome bourbon line up with their Still Austin Summer of Bourbon Single Barrel. Two of the Texas bourbon’s really stood out in this line up and this one may have been my favorite as it was perfect for summer. Let’s dive into the pour!

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Still Austin Summer of Bourbon Single Barrel
Nose: Very fresh as if you were at a farmers market with hits of floral and grape fruit.
Palate: A piña colada with a floater of honey! Perfect summer pour for the palate!
Finish: Very sweet finish with a rum-like consistency left on the tongue.
Lost Lantern’s Tasting Notes: Still Austin Summer of Bourbon Single Barrel
Aged for 4 years in a 53-gallon barrel, this was made from 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% malted barley, all grown in Texas. It has notes of vanilla, dried orange, clove, and chocolate brownie on the nose. The sweet and spicy palate balances oak and baking spice flavors with notes of walnut cake and candied orange. A bold and vibrant Texas straight bourbon whiskey, and a great way of exploring how one of our favorite styles of bourbon–high-rye bourbons–changes when made with local grains in a hot climate.
Closing Thoughts
While most bourbon lovers love a high proof bourbon, this one fits right into wheel house. While I will hold out on saying which was my favorite pour until the last review, this Still Austin Summer of Bourbon Single Barrel is probably the one I will spend my money on!
