Scott’s Tasting Notes: Triple Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey
- Nose: lemon, grape, and Pez candies; surprisingly fruity
- Palate: warm cinnamon raisin roll with strawberry jam, bready and rich
- Finish: warming, but not an overly “finished” influence. While not a heavy finish, the flavors linger and carry through to your next sip.
Closing Thoughts
Triple Cask is a finished whiskey that is not heavy-handed. The decision to blend 3 unique cask types was a wise one, as you can uncover the cask influence on the final whiskey with additional time in your glass. While I initially thought this bourbon was going to be lighter in flavor given its more fruit-forward nose, the depth of the palate was a pleasant surprise and I found it to be very rich and bready.
