Full Press Release About Green River Whiskey Row Brand Destination
Louisville, KY – October 22, 2024 — Green River Distilling Co., known as “The Pride of Owensboro,” has announced plans to bring a new brand experience to Louisville’s historic Whiskey Row. The new 4,400 square foot tasting room, located at 714 W. Main Street, is slated to open in mid-2025. It will feature a range of attractions. The attractions blend the brand’s rich history with a modern, laid-back atmosphere.
The tasting room will be designed as a warm, communal space. It will feature a unique horseshoe-shaped bar offering neat pours and classic cocktails. Visitors will also enjoy a retail and bottle shop showcasing both everyday offerings and exclusive, limited-edition whiskies. Guests can participate in fun activities like the “Shoot the Shoe” game, relax in the lounge area, and experience live performances on the intimate stage.
A hidden speakeasy-style bar will offer premium cocktails. It will also host private events and educational whiskey tastings for those seeking a more refined experience. The space was designed by Joseph & Joseph Architects. It will also feature memorabilia. These artifacts reflect Green River’s long history dating back to 1885.
This marks an important expansion for Green River, which is owned by Bardstown Bourbon Co., following the successful opening of the Bardstown Bourbon Company Tasting Room on the same block in 2023, which attracted over 100,000 visitors in its first year.
Mark Erwin, CEO of Bardstown Bourbon Co., emphasized that the new location will continue their tradition of delivering top-tier experiences: “Green River Distilling Co. has a rich history and an even better revival story… The Main Street experience will embody the brand’s timelessness and approachability.”
Dan Callaway, VP of New Product Development, echoed the sentiment, noting that the new location will bring the spirit of Green River to Louisville’s bourbon tourism hub, Whiskey Row.
Buzick Construction will construct the project. This furthers a collaboration with Bardstown Bourbon Company. Their recent capacity expanded to 18 million proof gallons annually.
