Laws Whiskey House Builds New, Stunning “Whiskey Sanctuary” in Denver

The Whiskey Sanctuary boasts a striking whiskey church, tasting rooms, and a cocktail lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, sweeping mountain views, and extensive cocktail program.

Laws Whiskey House is set to make a significant impact on the Denver whiskey scene with the grand opening of its innovative new tasting room, the Whiskey Sanctuary. Opening on December 21, 2024, the 4,000 square-foot space spans two floors and offers a unique experience for whiskey enthusiasts. The center of the Whiskey Sanctuary is the awe-inspiring “Whiskey Church,” a space featuring towering Gothic windows and hand-carved pews by Al Laws, the founder of Laws Whiskey House. Guests can explore a fully revamped distillery tour, enjoy guided tastings, and connect with experts for a deeper dive into the world of whiskey. As Founder Al Laws states, “Just as Laws adds to the fabric of American whiskey, our new tasting room contributes to the fabric of Denver’s whiskey scene.

Designed by BOSS.architecture, the Whiskey Sanctuary blends brutalist architecture with functional beauty. The bold structure combines raw materials like steel, glass, and exposed concrete with softer elements, such as rounded furnishings and wood accents, creating an inviting and contemporary atmosphere. At the heart of the space is the Whiskey Church, offering a sacred place to gather and celebrate whiskey. This immersive environment aligns with Laws’ vision of building a whiskey community: “Whiskey is meant to be shared with the people you care about, not something you drink alone in the dark,” says Laws.

Cocktails with a View

The Whiskey Sanctuary also features a cocktail lounge with impressive views of the Rocky Mountains. Guests can enjoy custom cocktails made with Laws Whiskey House’s terroir-driven whiskey, such as the Orange Whiskey Creamsicle and the Peach Basil Whiskey Smash. The beverage program includes whiskey flights, single pours, and non-alcoholic cocktails, all designed to highlight the distillery’s unique flavor profiles. “This village we’re building is all about bringing whiskey lovers together to enjoy great spirits with great company,” adds Laws.

The tasting room’s expanded space includes an enhanced retail area where visitors can purchase their favorite Laws Whiskey House expressions, as well as exclusive branded merchandise. With its captivating ambiance and engaging offerings, the Whiskey Sanctuary promises an exceptional whiskey experience for locals and visitors alike. Laws Whiskey House is located at 80 W Arkansas Ave, Denver, CO, and offers a variety of public and private tours. Tour reservations are available through their website, with general public tours priced at $20 per person, and private tours available for $40 per person.
