Rebel Bourbon has partnered with North Carolina’s Childress Vineyards to introduce a limited-edition release: Rebel 100 Childress Vineyards Cabernet Franc Barrel Finish. Aged four years using Rebel’s wheated bourbon recipe and finished in Cabernet Franc wine barrels, the new expression is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). This release is limited to 500 six-bottle cases and will be available at North Carolina ABC stores and at Lux Row Distillers, with a suggested retail price of $39.99 per 750mL.
Wine Barrel Finish Enhances Flavor Profile
The finishing process in Cabernet Franc barrels lends the bourbon distinctive notes. “We selected the Cabernet Franc barrels from Childress Vineyards because we wanted to craft a smooth, high-proof bourbon with tasting notes of sweet berry, oak, caramel, vanilla and spice,” said John Rempe, Master Distiller at Lux Row Distillers. Rebel describes the flavor profile as including hints of sweet plums, honey, and bright berries.
Childress Vineyards Brings Unique Terroir to Collaboration
Childress Vineyards cultivates over 70 acres of European grape varietals across two vineyard sites in North Carolina. Their terroir—featuring red clay soil, a humid climate, and a long growing season—produces more than 30 wines. “Working with Rebel has allowed us to push the boundaries of collaboration,” said Elizabeth Brown, Chief Operating Officer of Childress Vineyards. “We knew Rebel would be the perfect fit… as we continue to innovate and grow.”
A Continued Partnership with Richard Childress Racing
This release builds on Rebel Bourbon’s ongoing partnership with Richard Childress Racing (RCR) and driver Kyle Busch. Earlier in 2025, Rebel introduced the Kyle Busch 108 Single Barrel Bourbon as part of its sponsorship continuation with RCR for the NASCAR Cup Series season. “From racing to winemaking, Richard and the RCR team embody the true spirit of being a Rebel,” said Philip Lux, Brand Manager for Rebel Bourbon.
Product Launch Includes Private Vineyard Event
Childress Vineyards will celebrate the launch of Rebel 100 Childress Vineyards Cabernet Franc Barrel Finish with a private event.
