Scott’s Tasting Notes: Barrell Batch 035 Bourbon

  • Nose: butterscotch and oak; smells of old bourbon and wood rickhouse or cedar humidor.
  • Palate: rich butterscotch, black pepper spice, tannin oak & heat, and caramel.
  • Finish: long and lingering, and surprisingly fruity finish.

Closing Thoughts

Barrell Craft Spirits is what I liken to a chef in a kitchen. They create flavor through their intimate knowledge of their ingredients; in this case, unique bourbons of various mashbills, ages, and distilleries of origin. The team at BCS has crafted a balanced blend of well-aged bourbon that tastes and feels much older than its 6 year age statement. If you listened to our latest podcast with Joe and Tripp, you’ll know that Barrell Craft Spirits has a large portfolio of whiskies to choose from. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed in adding Batch 035 to your home bar to start.
