Method + Madness Irish Single Malt Review
As I sit down to write this review, I am in awe of what top performing athletes can do. Kansas State Guard Markquis Nowell just broke the single game assist record for NCAA tournament games and the Wildcats march on to the elite eight. What does that have to do with Method + Madness Irish Single Malt? It shows that with the right preparation and skill, great things can happen just like KSU beating my UK Wildcats last weekend and topping MSU tonight. The team has crafted a beautiful base distillate that marries nicely with a Bourbon Barrels for a minimum 14 years and finished in French Oak to allow the consumer to experience waves of flavors as they enjoy this whiskey.
Just the facts:
Proof: 92
Age: 14 years
Mash bill: 100% malted barley
Style: Irish Single Malt
Finish: French Oak
Jake’s Tasting Notes: Method + Madness Irish Single Malt
Nose: Baked green apple pie, with a dusting of cinnamon sugar and vanilla wafer.
Palate: Bright bouquet of sweet and spicy flavors, cinnamon and vanilla. That give way to more baked apple and wafer notes.
Finish: Medium to long with strong malted undertones.
Closing Thoughts:
I know I got killed but saying this on Twitter, but I stand by it; the $10 per year value on this whiskey is insane. Go buy a bottle anytime you can score nearly 15 year old whiskey for right around $100 bucks do it!
