GEORGETOWN, KY (April 27, 2026) – Blue Run Spirits has officially announced the launch of the Blue Run Blueprint Series, a new flagship Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Designed to push the boundaries of traditional blending, this inaugural release serves as a foundational “blueprint” for the brand’s future exploration into uncharted flavor territories.

Crafted by Shaylyn Gammon, Blue Run’s Head of Whiskey and Innovation, the 105-proof bourbon is a complex marriage of two distinct mashbills. The blend features a traditional wheated bourbon and an experimental “Founders’ Mash” (80/15/0/5) laid down during the brand’s earliest days.

A Master Class in Blending

Gammon, one of the industry’s most celebrated blenders, utilized low-floor aging for the experimental mashbill to ground the whiskey with fruit-forward, fusel notes. This is balanced by a top-floor-aged wheated mashbill that contributes “unexpected woody heat” and a silky softness.

“When crafting Blue Run releases, I think about the qualities bourbon enthusiasts expect, while also considering how we invite new consumers into the category,” said Gammon. “With the Blueprint Series, the goal was to create a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that can serve as a blueprint for discovery—something approachable and soft, yet layered enough to inspire continued exploration.”

Performance and Versatility

Bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV), the Blueprint Series was engineered for both the neat pour purist and the cocktail enthusiast. The higher concentration of flavor ensures the whiskey maintains its character when served on the rocks or as the base for a premium Old Fashioned.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Soft floral notes and subtle orchard fruit.
  • Palate: Warm baking spices, juicy apple, and cinnamon.
  • Finish: Toasted oak with a lingering warmth and a hint of dry wood heat.

Availability: Launching nationally at select fine spirits retailers on May 1, 2026, with an MSRP of $69.99.
