BARDSTOWN, KY (April 30, 2026) – Two of America’s most storied spirits producers have joined forces to celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. Chicken Cock Whiskey (est. 1856) and Laird & Company (est. 1780) today announced the launch of Old Glory, a groundbreaking blend of Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and Apple Brandy.

This limited-time release represents a combined 416-year distilling heritage. The expression is a precise blend of 70% Chicken Cock Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and 30% Laird’s Apple Brandy, both aged for a minimum of four years. Bottled at 100 proof, Old Glory bridges the gap between historical tradition and modern palate preferences.

A 100% American Spirit

The collaboration marks a first for both brands, resulting in a profile that balances the spicy, “trailblazing” character of rye with the soft, rounded sweetness of apple brandy.

“Few things today could simultaneously break the mold while honoring tradition like Old Glory does,” says Will Woodington, the Director of Brand Engagement for Grain & Barrel Spirits. “I couldn’t be more thrilled for us to be partnering with Laird’s, which has even older roots than we do, and has stood the test of time as an icon in American distilling. The blend may be a 70/30 split between Chicken Cock Rye and Laird’s Apple Brandy, but it is undeniably 100% American. We couldn’t be more excited to share in the incredible flavor and story of Old Glory with people across the country.”

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Bright orchard fruit, ginger, and toasted oak.
  • Palate: Warm honey, clove, ripe pear, and baked red apple.
  • Finish: Textured and lingering with cracked coriander, red apple skin, and a refreshing hint of mint.

“This collaboration unites two historic American spirits—Laird’s Apple Brandy, passed down through 10 generations, and Chicken Cock Whiskey, a revived brand from the mid-1800s,” says Lisa Laird, the President & Global Ambassador at Laird & Company. “Together, we’ve created a blend that respects tradition while delivering a bold, modern profile for today’s whiskey drinker. Old Glory is a true celebration of heritage and craftsmanship.”

Pricing and Collectibility

Old Glory is housed in Chicken Cock’s signature honeycomb glass bottle, featuring the iconic “Famous Old Brand” rooster alongside a bald eagle. With only 12,000 bottles produced, this national release carries an SRP of $64.99.
