Scott’s Tasting Notes: Bluegrass Distillers Blue Corn Bourbon

  • Nose – heavy, rich caramel is immediate. This is followed by earthy, dusty corn and bright apples.
  • Palate – Light brown sugar and nuttiness gives way to roasted corn and a familiar “pot still funkiness”.
  • Finish – medium in length, but baked apples and nuttiness linger.
  • Overall Thoughts – this is a whiskey that is traditional bourbon on the nose, but the palate takes me for a ride that is far from traditional. For lovers of craft and pot still whiskey, you are going to like this one for its unique characteristics, body, and Mashbill.

Distillery Tasting Notes: Bluegrass Distillers Blue Corn Bourbon

  • Nose- honey, salted caramel, floral essences, vanilla
  • Palate – sweet oak, white chocolate, honey, pear
  • Finish- apple, cinnamon, spice
