Boulder Spirits Earns Gold at World Whiskies Awards 2024

Rising Colorado Distillery Earns 2 More Golds From World Whiskies Awards; one for Cask Strength Bourbon and another for American Single Malt

Whisky Magazine recently hosted its 2024 American awards ceremony of the esteemed global competition, World Whiskies Awards. As expected, Colorado distillers performed well, but one was recognized with two Gold medals for their whiskies. Boulder Spirits has been a brand on the rise in recent years, capturing major national attention such as #10 and #28 in Fred Minnick’s Top 100 American Whiskeys for their Cask Strength Bourbon for two consecutive years. Even Bourbon Lens gave them high praise in our review of the 2023 Cask Strength Bourbon release. Adding a Gold from the World Whiskies Awards for that whiskey is “icing on the cake” according to Alastair Brogan, owner and operator of Vapor Distillery, where Boulder Spirits is distilled.

This whiskey has been performing so well in competition since its release in 2022. It’s great to see that continue into 2024; It’s very encouraging.

Founder Alastair Brogan

Alastair moved to the U.S. a “dozen or so” years ago to pursue his passion for single malt whiskey. The second awarded Gold is the first time one of his American Single Malts have achieved this honor. The elixir responsible for this achievement is Boulder Spirits’ most recent special release: The Ten Essentials. This single malt has been making its way through the whiskey-influencer circles with high praises, including highly regarded mentions from @uproxx, @whiskywithaview, @cospiritscollective, and now a Gold accommodation from the World Whiskies Awards.

This unique Colorado climate acts as a fingerprint on our whiskeys, and the flavors that we’re able to produce here, they’re really incredible! What an honor. This is great for Boulder Spirits. But it’s also great for Colorado, and for the category American Single Malt.

About Boulder Spirits:

The Boulder Spirits story begins with a man and his dream of captaining a single malt distillery. Alastair Brogan moved to the United States from Scotland in 2012 with the goal of making world class whiskey; in 2024, the mission continues. The goal is to create new ripples in the whiskey flavor pond. That, and to share those flavors with the world.
