Need a Whiskey Gift? Bourbon Lens Has You Covered

The holidays are upon us, but don’t worry because Bourbon Lens has you covered with our Whiskey Gift Guide! We know that gift giving can be tough, so we have broken our guide down for all the different gifting situations you might find yourself in!

How The Whiskey Gift Guide Works:

We have broken our list into three categories: $20-$49.99, $50-$99.99 and $100+. You will see recommendations for bourbons, ryes, world whiskey, and even whiskey adjacent products. Now let the fun begin!

The Whiskey Gift For The Holiday Party: $20 – $49.99

Jake’s Thoughts:

When thinking about building the perfect gift for someone under $50, I want to start with building the perfect cocktail. While everyone else might grab some angostura bitters, our buddy Bob’s company Owl and Whale offers great bitters starting at $20. My personal favorite from Owl and Whale is their blueberry bitters. If you want to be the life of the party, go grab a couple bottles of bourbon from Heaven Hill. Pick up two Bottled-in-Bond bourbons like Evan Williams White Label and J.T.S. Brown (Scott’s favorite) for about $30 bucks and some change. My final option in this price range would be glassware; I highly recommend the Whiskey Whisdom American Whiskey Neat Glass. You can pick up two of these glasses for $47.99.

Scott’s Thoughts:

With the ballooning price of whiskey lately, you may think it’s tough to find a great bottle of bourbon or rye for less than $50. However, there are plenty of great whiskies in this price range, including my all-time gifting favorites, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and Maker’s Mark 46.

If you are a little intimidated by selecting a bottle for the whiskey-lover in your life, I’d suggest you gift them an accessory to complement their whiskey-drinking experience.

The Whiskey Gift For Your Boss: $50 – $99

Scott’s Thoughts:

I may be biased, but the Bourbon Lens Rebel Bourbon Single Barrel is the perfect bottle of Kentucky Bourbon for this price range. It is a limited release, classically sweet, wheated Kentucky Bourbon. This bottle will show that you put some thought into this gift, rather than just grabbing any bottle on the way to the holiday party. Best part is, it will ship straight to your door via SharedPour.com. Other bottles in this price range are the Whiskey Row Series from Old Forester (especially the 1910 Double Oaked and 1920 Prohibition Style) and if you are looking for a unique blend of craft whiskies across America, check out Borrowed Page by American Mash & Grain. Continuing the craft whiskey exploration, the Blind Barrels blind tasting subscription box can be purchased as a one-time purchase if you are looking to give something unique; this is a great way for your recipient to explore some less well-known craft whiskey makers.

Jake’s Thoughts:

The perfect gift for someone in the $50 – $99 range starts with the Travel Decanter by Aged and Ore. This is one gift that I have on my personal list this holiday season. If whiskey travel isn’t your thing, a few new whiskies on my list to try are Milam and Greene Unabridged Volume #1, Five Trail Barrel Proof, and, of course, Bourbon Lens Ezra Brooks Barrel Proof.

The Whiskey Gift For That Special Someone: $100 +

Jake’s Thoughts:

Let’s be honest, $100 doesn’t go as far as it once did, but there are some great options in this category. Thinking about some of our upcoming podcasts, I want to start with Dalmore 14 (don’t for get to subscribe to the podcast to catch this episode in January). If Scotch Whisky isn’t your thing, Bardstown Bourbon Company and Blue Run Spirits have you covered for the holidays with some exciting new releases! If you want to make sure you don’t disappoint, it never hurts to stick with the “heritage” brands during the holidays. Last but not least, check out Cruise Custom Flags. The Lieutenant is a 6 x 14 inch Bourbon Barrel Stave American Flag; this is a great way to accentuate a mini-bar.

Scott’s Thoughts:

Finding a $100+ bottle of bourbon might not be too difficult any longer, but there are some great options out there from large and small producers. I’d recommend seeking out Yellowstone’s 2022 Limited Edition; it is a blend of 7-year, 15-year and 16-year-aged bourbons, finished in Marsala wine casks. For a elevated curated tasting experience, check out the Bevridge Tasting Collections. The Bevridge American Single Malt or the World Whiskey Collections each include 5 different whiskies from the category, a video tasting experience as well as high quality video tours of the distilleries in the collection. In addition to those whiskies, I’d suggest some top notch whiskey gifts from a small business like High Camp Flasks with their Firelight 750 Flask which comes in a variety of colors and finishes and can hold all 750 ml of your favorite whiskey, wine, or even a cocktail. It includes two 6-Shooter Tumblers and is vacuum insulated.

We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and a great New Year! Please tag us as you give your whiskey gifts to your friends and family; we would love to celebrate along with you all!
