Buzzard’s Roost Unveils Limited Cigar Blend Bourbon Ahead of Kentucky Bourbon Festival
New Expression Builds on Popular Cigar Rye Release
Buzzard’s Roost Distillery has announced the launch of its newest limited-time offering, Cigar Blend Bourbon. The release follows the success of the brand’s Cigar Rye, which sold out quickly, and is designed to pair well with a fine cigar or stand alone as a distinctive pour. The bourbon will debut online and at Buzzard’s Roost on Whiskey Row starting Friday, September 5, 2025, with an SRP of $85. It will also be featured at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival from September 4–7.
Crafted with Proprietary Double Oak Process
The 6-year-old bourbon is bottled at 105 proof and features a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley. Buzzard’s Roost used its proprietary double oak method, aging the spirit in lightly charred, heavily toasted barrels. According to the distillery, the bourbon develops “subtle smoky aromas and flavors of sweet caramel and baking spices,” with a long finish of “campfires, spice cookies, and caramel apples.”
Leadership Reflections on the New Release
“We are anxious for people to taste our new Cigar Blend Bourbon,” said Judy Hollis Jones, Co-founder and CEO of Buzzard’s Roost. “We know how much people loved our original Cigar Rye, and think this one turned out beautifully. My father and grandmother loved good cigars, and this bourbon brings me happy memories with every sip.”
Co-founder and Master Blender Jason Brauner added, “Our unique double oak process really shines in this bourbon. From our 17 different barrel profiles, we chose a handful of barrels for secondary maturation that we knew would bring out specific aromas and flavors that would complement a fine cigar, just as a great red wine complements a juicy steak.”
Additional Single Barrel Offerings
