We’ve talked about this day for years now on the Bourbon Lens. Castle & Key just announced one of the most anticipated bourbon releases for us. The first small batch Kentucky Bourbon from Castle & Key Distillery releases Saturday, March 26, 2022. The release event details and full press release with details about the bourbon are below.
Release Event Details:
Distillery Gates will open at 9:00am for guests solely wanting to purchase Castle & Key Small Batch Bourbon in the Boiler Room. The Distillery kindly asks that you line up in the Guest Parking Lot according to signage. Limit 12 bottles per guest. The Distillery cannot guarantee bottle availability for the weekend. Bottle purchases will be on a first come first serve basis. Valid ID is required.
The remainder of the property will open at 10:30am. Bars will be located in Taylorton Station and in the Sunken Garden. Special presentations and activations from @walnutgrovefarms, @kygentlemencigar, @claytonandcrume, and @jackrudycocktailco.
Food trucks and music will begin at 11:00am. The Flying Waffle, @tacos_el_tio859, @bourbontrailbites, and @gelato.gilberto will be located on the Botanical Trail.
All drink service will end at 4:30pm, followed by the property close at 5:00pm.
Frankfort, KY, March 14, 2022 – Over four years in the making, Castle & Key Distillery is proud to announce the launch of its Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey Batch #1, the first-ever bourbon to be released by the Castle & Key team since restoring the Old Taylor Distillery in 2014. Batch #1 will be available starting on March 26th at Castle & Key Distillery for $50.00 and will be followed by the release of Batch #2, which will be available in early May. Both batches will be sold throughout the states of Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Aroma: Rye Bread, Dry Cinnamon, Pine Resin, Red Apple Peel, and Barn Wood
Taste: Burnt Sugar, Dried Fig, Cracked Pepper, and Cherry Wood
Finish: Charred Oak and Molasses

Age: 4 years
Proof: 99 (49.5% ABV)
