Fireball Whisky is shaking up the traditionally buttoned-up world of golf with a canine twist.

Launching June 27 at White Pines Golf Club in Bensenville, IL, the Sazerac-owned brand will introduce the Fireball Retrievers—specially trained Golden Retrievers that recover cinnamon-scented golf balls from off-course hazards. These four-legged “caddies” are part of Fireball’s effort to make golf less about strict rules and more about fun on the fairway.

A Different Kind of Caddie

Fireball Retrievers are trained by Dog Training Elite, known for scent detection programs. The dogs use scent drills with cinnamon-scented aids to track down rogue golf balls at a designated Fireball Hole on the East or West course. Once they find the ball, the dogs sit and bark until the golfer arrives—offering retrieval with “no judgement”.

Book Your Round with a Side of Spice

Starting June 20, golfers can reserve their tee time for the Fireball Hole experience through whitepinesgolf.com/teetimes. Participants receive a Fireball cinnamon-scented golf ball to use at the special hole, and if the ball is lost, the retrievers spring into action from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We Don’t Do Boring,” Says Fireball

Golf can take itself a little too seriously,” said Danny Suich, Global Brand Director for Fireball. “We’re here to help you toss the golf rule book in the trash and hand you the best caddy you’ve ever had – one who fetches your golf balls so you can focus on the shot that really matters – a shot of Fireball.

Limited-Edition Balls Available Nationwide

For those unable to visit the course, Fireball will offer limited-edition cinnamon-scented golf balls online at FireballWhisky.com/Retrievers beginning June 27. The balls will retail for $1—the same price as a Fireball shooter. Training tips from Dog Training Elite will also be available online.
