Bourbon Heritage Month Day 9 Review
Alright, I didn’t win the lottery for a Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition – 135th Anniversary. However, my consolation prize is still being able to taste one of my favorite yearly releases. This year, they added a bold, 25 year component and I’m definitely interested in seeing how this blend tastes. Let’s dive in!

Jake’s Tasting Notes: Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition – 135th Anniversary
Nose: Baked red fruits, citrus peel and vanilla custard
Palate: The palate is very bright and active. With notes of pepper, leather, oak, cinnamon, baked red fruits, with hint of burle sugar at the end.
Finish: Lingering red fruit sweetness, similar to a bold red wine that fades to a light chocolate for an excellent finish.
Bourbon Lens Closing Thoughts
While I didn’t get to try the 2022 release, I have had the opportunity to try each of the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition releases and this one may take the cake. If you are lucky enough to win the lottery, or even can find this sitting on the shelf when it hits retailers, do yourself a favor and buy it!
